Manny Skayton’s Fantastic Guitar

Manny Skayton’s Fantastic Guitar

A Story by BlueShadow

Manny Skayton was reading a book about musical instruments. The title of the book was Music for Everyone and had three hundred pages devoted to introducing and elaborating on many different instruments, both European and ethnic. The book was one of Manny’s favorites because he enjoyed reading about ukuleles, trumpets, sitars, and violins. He found the book to be very fascinating because of its depth and the numerous instruments it showed. European instruments, such as piano and violin, were explained in great detail as well as ethnic instruments, such as the sitar and gayageum. His book about music was very satisfying to read because of its compact form and detailed way of explaining things. He loved to read Music for Everyone because of its accurate and elaborate way of speaking about hundreds of unique instruments.

One of Manny’s favorite instruments, the guitar, was prominently displayed in the book. The book told about how the guitar had six strings, tuned in perfect fifths, and that it produced a beautiful sound when plucked. Manny was so intrigued by the guitar because he thought stringed instruments, such as the ukulele, violin, and cello, were very sophisticated as well as easy to start. The book’s section on guitars was four pages long, introducing the origins of the guitar to the modern day usage of the guitar. The book explained how the guitar was very useful in its ability to play any song imaginable and that starting the guitar was something anyone could do. The book also mentioned that the guitar was curved, wooden, and intricately made, so Manny found the book to be fascinating as well. Manny found his book of musical instruments to be very satisfying to read yet interesting and informative. He loved reading about the ukulele, violin, and guitar, but in particular the guitar because of its innate beauty and melodious tone. The book convinced Manny to obtain a guitar.

Manny asked his mom if he could have a guitar from the music store and his mom replied, “Sure, let’s get one tomorrow.” Manny smiled and went back to his room to revel in happiness. He was about to get his favorite instrument and it was going to be extremely fun and interesting. He dreamed of getting a guitar and now was his opportunity.

Manny went to the music store and got his guitar. It costed about six hundred dollars and was made of light amber wood. It was quite large, and produced the most beautiful sound when strummed. Manny got his guitar and headed to his room, where he played and played and played until he could finally produce a sonorous sound. Manny played the instrument very well after a few weeks, and soon he played “Auld Lang Syne” and other traditional folk songs on his guitar because he loved practicing. Guitar was the best investment he had made in his life, and he was proud that he now owned a guitar. His new musical instrument was visually appealing and also beautiful in tone. Manny had his favorite instrument in his room and was so pleased that he could play it whenever he wanted to. His guitar was beautiful, expensive, and useful. Manny loved playing his new guitar.
