Manny Skayton’s Last Job And RetirementA Story by BlueShadowBeing a financial project manager at Reading Mutual for twenty years made Manny some friends, and also made him exhausted, worn out, and tired. Manny loved working there because of the welcoming atmosphere of the workplace, the kind coworkers, and the fact that he got to do math. Manny left Reading Mutual with sadness. He enjoyed working there and wanted to continue to do so in the later future. Reading Mutual was like his second home and leaving there was hard, but necessary to enter a new part of his life. Once Manny left Reading Mutual, he wanted to know what other employment opportunities existed. He went onto his computer and typed up “Reading Jobs” because he wanted to work a few more years doing something different. It was nice being a financial project manager, but now it’s time to do something else. Manny left Reading Mutual and became a math teacher at Reading Elementary School so that he could instill knowledge in other kids’ brains and also improve his math ability a great extent. Being a math teacher was going to be challenging, sometimes annoying, and very rewarding. Working with 5th graders was something Manny wanted to do throughout his life. Manny applied for the job and became a 5th grade math teacher so that he could have a bit more fun when working. He got the job and started teaching multiplication, addition, subtraction, and division to knowledge-hungry 5th graders. He was so happy with his new job that he didn’t think about his previous much again. His new job was very fun, carefree, and rewarding. To see a student understand a math concept made Manny feel very happy inside. It made Manny feel so amazing to be able to change a person’s life for the better. Teaching was hard, but overall less stressful than his previous job. Manny worked at Reading Elementary School for a few years, then decided to quit because he had enough money to retire. Looking back at the years he worked at school, he thought he improved as a person, financially, and also emotionally since he understood how children thought better and looked at the world. Manny loved his job as a teacher but decided it was time to leave. He left with enough money to live out his retirement to the end of his life. Reading Mutual and Reading Elementary School taught him social skills, life lessons, and how to be happy under stressful circumstances. It was time to relax. Manny was now sixty years old and being this old meant it was time to relax. He got his money, bought a vacation home near the beach, and retired. This time though, he didn’t need to listen to anyone else’s commands and could work by himself. He loved working but enjoyed his vacation and retirement more. He was so pleased with his life and enjoyed the free time he had. Manny loved being alone. He could finally listen to himself and retirement was just as good as they portrayed. His life was much better and more stable. He could finally relax. © 2021 BlueShadow |
