A Lightning Strike

A Lightning Strike

A Poem by BlueShadow

Stranded in the castle I feel safe

No way to go out, a good state

Talking with others, feeling void of hate

It’s good to be breathing, just continuing to wait

The storm comes above

Driving out love

We feel like we had enough

But the rain starts to get rough

Over and over the rain pounds

The castle which now is a mound

The storm passes by leaving wet ground

Leaving us finally safe and sound

The storm is over, we’re alright

The sun’s rays have pushed out the blight

And finally here comes dark and night

But bam, the lightning one more time strikes
