Jupiter

On the spaceship, I stare outside the half foot thick windows

Asteroids, planets, stars, hovering in space

I’m stunned by the vastness of it all, a sea of black with spheres

Spheres of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and any element you can think of

I love the expanse of void, of emptiness, of loneliness

Yet in the midst of this loneliness, I feel a sense of warmth

The warmth burns in my heart and stomach, energy glowing

The glow makes me hopeful, that my spaceship will reach something

I feel so happy on the spaceship, surrounded by science and awe

The spaceship is remarkably stable, as we enter an asteroid belt

I look and see potential, potential for life, liberty, and love

The spaceship makes me feel ill, so I stop on a planet

I step outside and I feel slightly stunned

Where am I?, I wonder

And I see the color of the clouds of the planet
