Grandma's QuiltA Poem by BlueShadowThe Quilt My grandmother made a quilt for me a long time ago Knitted with love, tender heart, and sweetness She knitted stars, moons, fairies, and magic into it To this day I still have my quilt and it’s in my closet I love how wonderful and beautiful my quilt is Soft to the touch and wonderful to put over yourself It reminds me of her cooking, presence, and aura I love the lime green and yellow quilt she made me The quilt is extraordinarily beautiful and intricate So dear to me and so valuable and so precious Grandma isn’t here anymore, just sadness and longing But I still have a fragment of her, a twenty square foot one The quilt eases the pain and the loss of losing a loved one I love the quilt and its amazing and soft touch It reminds me heaven is up there… somewhere © 2021 BlueShadow |
