Silence

Silence

A Poem by BlueShadow

Silence

1

I listen to the room, nothing comes out or appears

The sound of the door closing, I close my eyes

Strangely but surely, I feel so good, safe and sound

I light up the candle waiting for love and compassion

To seep in, to light up my heart, to illuminate my world

I wait and wait and wait, until the drudgery of it all is over

Whisked away, I exit the room, stunned by the beauty of it all

I love my life and the room I was in, stunned by its amazing love

The room resembles a body of hope and happiness

Challenging my perceptions of emptiness

2

In the old oak cabin, I sit on the edge of bed

Wondering what I shall do next

Should I read a book, sleep, eat?

Or maybe I should stare out the window and wish for peace

The rain falls gently in the forest and I’m stunned

By the beauty of it all, the stunning raindrops

That pitter patter on the roof of my house

I love living in the forest, free from any disturbances

My wooden cabin is stunningly tranquil

You could hear a pin drop during the morning

3

I sit at my computer, wondering what to do

Music, food, poetry, love, kindness and beauty

Flood my mind, I’m not sure what to type

My head fills with lots and lots of ideas

I’m not sure which one to explore

Struggling, I open up my poetry book

Written by an author you can only imagine

Loving all that is written

So much inspiration and intelligence

Challenging my perception of vanity
