The Theater

The Theater

A Poem by BlueShadow

Stopping by the theater, I look inside and see

An interesting and poignant play

Being played inside for a fee

Grudgingly I pay the money

And inside the theater I go

For a wonder of merriment and joy

I hopefully didn’t waste a cent

The play’s about a musician’s performance

How well will it go? Will he succeed or fail?
The performance ends up a disaster

Everyone in the audience laughs

The play was enjoyable to me

And others think the play was for laughs

I loved the play and its accurate portrayal

Of musicians, money, and might

Of companies, careers, and the chosen

Who think they can determine what’s right

I loved the play and its stupendous characters

Those who make life interesting

The play is phenomenally interesting

With accurate depictions of singing

I leave the theater and go back to my house

Where I find my violin and see

There’s something, a mouse

Eating away at the violin’s string E

Sadness pervades my being

I sadly get my violin and whine

Overall I’m happy

Not everything can be fine
