Sullen Dusk

Sullen Dusk

A Poem by BlueShadow

Sullen Dusk

The haze covers the seemingly endless field

The field covers square mile after square mile

Of sunflowers and roses, roses and sunflowers

Making it seem like there is no end in sight

I love the field’s wonderful fragrance

Sweet, aromatic, and calming

The sun lies at the edge of the canvas

Its presence an everlasting giant yellow dot

Slowly it goes down, slower and slower

And the sun is gone for good

And the dusk is here for end

Sad, sullen, and somber
