The Elephant Ride

The Elephant Ride

A Poem by BlueShadow

The Elephant Ride

Riding the elephant I feel queasy

It makes my stomach and mouth feel uneasy

The elephant walks and it shakes the ground

If I fall off hopefully I’ll be found

The height of the elephant cannot be overestimated

It’s tall like a church steeple gated

Stunningly enough the ride starts to feel better

My body, mind, and soul starts to feel better

We approach the end of the ride and we’re free

It’s like finding the apartment door’s keys

Afterwards I ask my dad about the ride

Did he like it being not indoors but outside?
He replies that he loved being on top of the elephant

It was like an experience very appealing to a sycophant

I, however, feel sorry for the elephant’s toil

With feet constantly pounding the soil

I get a photo of myself and the elephant

Stunned by the elephant’s aura sent

The elephant ride was pleasant, enjoyable, and fun

Full of excitement, worry, laughter, and sun
