The Earthquake

The Earthquake

A Chapter by BlueShadow

Westlake City was asleep at night and people were wondering about their lives as usual. The roads were lit by lights and the stars lit up the night sky like a chandelier. Westlake City was exceptionally beautiful and interesting and the people loved their city as usual. The homes in Westlake City were exceptionally interesting and wonderful to live in as usual. Westlake City was a quiet city during the night, and the grasshoppers chirped as usual. Westlake City was an amazingly beautiful city during the dusk because people were quiet and the cars were parked in the parking lots. Westlake City was an amazingly quiet and wonderful city because it had lots of interesting things to do and was an amazingly beautiful place to be. Westlake City was remarkable for its kind population, lovely homes, and huge apartment complexes that often had one thousand to two thousand units. Westlake City was an extraordinarily interesting and peaceful place to be during the nighttime. It was amazing and beautiful to be somewhere so wonderful. It was a person’s dream come true in terms of tranquility.

Seth Peterson and Jane Morrison were both asleep in their beds. It was one o’clock AM and was amazingly quiet and astoundingly serene. The city was dead quiet and people were fast asleep snoring away, feeling good about themselves and their lives and getting the sleep that they felt like they deserved. Seth Peterson and Jane Morrison were both asleep along with their parents when suddenly there was a subtle shaking. The shaking grew and grew until it crescendoed into a loud thumping that sounded so loud and distressing to most people because it was an extraordinarily loud shaking that made people wake up from their beds. Seth woke up and was startled to see the books on his bookshelf sliding off and the ground shaking and wobbling like an ocean wave. Seth Peterson and Jane Morrison were astoundingly scared because they were worried about the foundations of their homes alongside with their parents’ safety. Jane and Seth both rushed to their parents and were scared to see them wide awake and with frightened looks on their faces. They now knew what was going on. It was an earthquake. Seth and Jane were so excited to be able to have survived and earthquake and were terrified of what lay outside. Slowly and cautiously, they went outside to the ground and saw people panicking and screaming and running away for help. Seth and Jane were extremely lucky to have survived such a strong earthquake and were stunned that their houses did not collapse either. Seth and Jane were extremely happy that they and their parents, pets, and homes survived, too.

Seth and Jane turned on the news the next day and were stunned to see the news. The newscasters reported that a 7.0 magnitude earthquake had struck Westlake City and was responsible for a huge fault in the ground. The newscasters were happy to report that no one had died but about a hundred people had been injured. Westlake City was a survivor of a strong and powerful earthquake, but was lucky to have survived such a massive tremor. Seth and Jane were so glad that they survived such a strong and powerful earthquake, with so much energy that they both went to their respective schools and told their classmates about how exciting yet scary the earthquake was. The earthquake was not the first to have hit Westlake City, but was the fourth in twenty years. Westlake City was a beautiful city, but was prone to tremors every now and then. Westlake City was lucky to have survived the earthquake, but there was a huge fault in the ground along the west side of the city. Seth and Jacobs were somewhat amused that there was a fault alongside the ground in the city and were stunned that the earthquake left such a mark.

The fault was shone on television and was stunning for its width and length. The earthquake was remarkable for its strength and shook the city for one minute straight. The earthquake was remarkably strong and had so much energy and power to it that it made the bombs that went off in war look measly. The earthquake damaged very little in the city but the fault was going to take time to repair. Scientists were going to the fault to examine it and inspect it and come up with a summary of what the fault represented. People were eager to go to the fault in person too and many people went to the fault wanting to know what happened but people were somewhat scared, too. The fault was an extraordinarily scary thing to see and was a five foot wide crevice that was as deep as the earth’s outer core. People were stunned to see the fault and how amusingly scary it was. The fault was extremely intriguing to see and scientists were already busy studying it. The fault was interesting to see because people wanted to know what the earthquake had done to their city.

Seth went to school and told his classmates about how his books were slipping off the bookshelves and that his house had shaken like a boat on sea. Seth was stunned to hear that his classmates had gone through an even more rough time, with their home’s floors cracked. Seth was so grateful that he didn’t have anyone he loved die. It would have been exceptionally traumatic to deal with and hard to cope with. Seth was grateful that his life wasn’t damaged by the powerful earthquake.

Jane Morrison was glad that her house wasn’t damaged by the earthquake too badly either. Jane Morrison was so glad that her life was still intact and that she still had both her parents standing with her loving her and providing food for her. Jane Morrison was so happy that her life was good and amazing. The earthquake wasn’t too bad after all.
