Stagnant

Jealous, hatred, war

I live on Earth feeling sad

Will there ever be an end?
To this perpetual motion of gloom?
I strive for happiness, peace, and harmony

But what I get instead is sadness.

I live in the city building 10th floor

My apartment cozy and exciting

Looking down I see cars rushing forth

Like a river of motion and energy

I feel so glad that I am home

I love life and instill in others

A love that I have for myself

I wish for joy and peace to return

Hoping for something good to happen

Sometimes I wonder if torture and gloom is part of the nature of mankind. It is what forces us to do better and, at some points, the only thing we can feel. Appreciation may be the only thing in our power to balance that

I too wish for the same unfortunately our society has become selfish and indifferent towards the suffering of others. Where is our love of community? What happened to the idea of brotherhood and unity? When we actually gave a damn about suffering children, not just our own? When respect of life and decency meant something to everyone? Now we have a segment of people that have a warped belief of patriotism and entitlement. What caused their profound hatred for their fellow countrymen? Where they would rather believe and propagate lies than the truth before them. Our society is in shambles and it's going to take all of us to fix it. And it all starts with caring for one another in equity.
