The Picnic Day

The Picnic Day

A Poem by BlueShadow

In my bedroom on my bed

I wonder what today lies ahead

I find myself anticipating dread

Trying to find something to do, instead

My parents come into my room

And tell me to clean the floor with a broom

They tell lunch is ready, rice with mushrooms

Making me feel ready to sprout and bloom

I finish lunch and go on a picnic

And watch a few good flics

I feel bored and grab a stick

And break the twig

My life finds a new turn

With my dad being very stern

I go to school and try to learn

And hopefully don’t burn

When I arrive home I feel happy

I feel happy and flappy

Ready to see the English story

I have to read for tomorrow’s beauty
