How Insignificant Are We?A Story by BlueShadowThe Earth is but one of 9 planets in our solar system, which is part of the Milky Way Galaxy, which is part of 2 trillion other galaxies. On Earth, I live in America and in Florida living in my apartment. This fact reminds me of how insignificant humans are compared to the grandeur of the universe. We are like atoms compared to the universe and are so small that it seems unreal. The world is so vast and huge because we as humans occupy about 6 cubic feet. The world is so vast and huge and our footsteps don’t register at all. Our insignificance compared to the world and the Milky Way remind me to not take life too seriously but have fun and enjoy it, too. In a way, I enjoy being small compared to the universe and love my “smallness” because I feel like I’m part of something larger. The sun compared to the earth is humongous with the sun being a million times larger. The earth is like a dot compared to the sun and remind me that the sun is much larger than our solar system and is much larger than the earth. I love being a small fragment of existence as a whole. © 2022 BlueShadow |
