What is Selflessness?

Poverty is not being able to eat, drink water, or have a home. Poverty is a major ailment that afflicts a large number of people in the world today. Alleviating poverty is extremely important to me because by doing so, you show that you are selfless, honest, generous, and compassionate. It saddens me to think of the thousands upon thousands of people dying every day from hunger. It is very sobering to think about the multitudes of people who suffer from a lack of clean water, or even a roof above their heads. I believe that it is the responsibility of every human to do something out of selflessness. Selflessness is an extremely important concept to me and makes me feel like my character is improving. Selflessness is important because it shows you have a beautiful and sound heart. I love doing things for others. It makes me feel good.
