Ethella Learns a Lesson

       Once upon a time, there was a woman named Ethella. She was kind, understanding, and patient, characteristics which made her extremely popular with other people. People thought Ethella was amazingly generous, gentle, and beautiful. Ethella was kind to others and led a happy life, overall. However, there was something that Ethella was discontent with, and that was her appearance. 

Ethella thought everything in her life was perfect except for what she looked like. Ethella thought that if she could just make her nose slightly thinner, her life would be perfect. Ethella went to a surgeon and made her nose thinner, and came back home. She felt slightly disgusted with herself and also felt extremely sad about what she had done. Her life hadn’t become more perfect but just got worse.

Ethella was saddened by the surgeon’s inability to make her life perfect. Ethella was in despair. She went to the clairvoyant in her town and decided to have a tarot card reading. The fortune-teller had her fortune read and Ethella was stunned because it said she would become a millionaire in five years. Ethella didn’t know what to say but just went on with her life and ended getting the money.

Still, however, her life was not “perfect”. Ethella then went to the library and got a book on self-acceptance. In it, she read about love, honesty, and insecurity, and felt so much better about her life. Some things need time to understand, she thought.
