The Campfire

The Campfire

A Poem by BlueShadow

Campfire

The night covers the ground like a child under his blanket

The moon, the stars light the ground casting a shadow on the floor of the earth

Beauty dissipates into nothingness when the night comes

Instead, we find ourselves in front of the campfire

Burning, embers flying, ourselves simply stunning

I treasure the solitude of the night, stunned by its charm

No one else but my friends and me

All there is, is the quiet of the night

I love the shadows gleaning forth like the night is alive

The campfire burns, dying, dead.
