What is the Definition of an English Major?

An English major to me is someone who has written a book in the English language. Writing is the paramount skill in any language so I greatly admire those who can write in English. I believe I am an English major even though I have not received a collegiate degree in English because my current book, Megatome, has more than 600 pages. I define myself as an English major because English is fun and interesting to me.
