To Understand

Understanding rather than knowing is important to me because with understanding, you understand why something is the way it is rather than just knowing. Memorization is a key ingredient in learning something but ultimately understanding is a necessity. Understanding rather than rote memorization is the key to success and the key to learning. Understanding gets to the root of a problem rather than just memorizing it for no reason. I think to learn something completely, understand it.
