The Sewing Machine

The Sewing Machine

A Poem by BlueShadow

The Sewing Machine

Huddled in front of the machine

The girl makes shirts and clothes

All day and all night long

Just to keep a beautiful rose

I wonder if any or many

Know the labor a person goes through

To make a beautiful T-shirt

With designs and stars and blue

In the world today many

Work all day long for nearly nothing

I find it sad to think about this

Our world is full of greed and envy

Perhaps the world is coming for something

Bigger than anything before

What it’s coming to, I don’t know

But hopefully something full of lore
