The Lone House

The Lone House

A Poem by BlueShadow

Located deep in a suburb of a city

The house stands alone with confidence

The inhabitants of the house are rather jittery

As a storm comes by challenging the insurance

Scared of the lightning, screaming wind, and dark clouds

The dog runs quickly for cover

The house sways back and forth

Like a pendulum undercover

The house is beautiful, majestic, and tall

Four floors of furniture and money

The inhabitants of the house remember

It took a lot to build the house looking sunny

The house is stunning for its charm and presence

Its existence evokes a sense of admiration

The house is like a fort of civilization

In a field that looks rather unkempt
