A Summary of 1984

A Summary of 1984

A Story by BlueShadow

1984 is about three different areas, Oceania, Eastasia, and Eurasia, who are in a conflict with each other and are trying to defeat each other. The book talks about how totalitarian government and monitoring cause people to act in a predictable way. 1984 is an excellent book that shows how totalitarianism can be very costly in terms of people's freedom, anger, and happiness. The book is beautifully written and focuses on the protagonist, Winston Smith, who has to navigate the difficulties of life and find love while also thinking about the government. Winston Smith is an exceptionally astute person who knows so much about life and the difficulties it entails and is a reminder to everyone that freedom is valuable. 1984 is an excellent novel about big government and how it can operate and affect our lives if given the opportunity. I recommend this book for those wanting to know more about oppression because of government. It was a beautiful book written in a beautiful and descriptive way.
