The Sound of Silence

The Sound of Silence

A Poem by BlueShadow

The Sound of Silence

Sitting down on the edge of my bed

The chilly winter air is everywhere

The frost covers the branches and bushes

Sublime is the beauty of the snow

I read a book of medium length

I hear the car’s noise in the distance

It makes me chilled to the bone

I love life’s free and beautiful gifts

Wonder and wander are my mind’s treasures

Life is beautiful, warm, and cozy

Nothing is better than reading on the bed

With the winter’s beautiful encompassing shed

Sitting on a warm bed on a cold winter's night can induce feelings of great peacefulness. The last stanza is a portrait of bliss.
