Mr. Tang's Chinese RestaurantA Story by BlueShadow
Day 1
In this journal I will keep the records and happenings at my Chinese restaurant, Shanghai Palace, located in Ebony Hills, Ohio. It’s going to be an interesting book full of the records of customers, myself, the restaurant, and anything interesting in general. This journal will be a good record-keeper of my restaurant. My restaurant serves Orange Chicken, General Tso’s Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Rice, Lo Mein, and other Chinese delicacies. This restaurant is going to be an interesting one, full of quirky customers, Ebony Hills’s news, and my life. I can’t wait to share it with you guys and am excited about its inception. The restaurant is going to be marvelous to keep a track of. The food costs about ten dollars per dish and is extraordinarily well-made and well-preserved. This journal is extremely interesting and will keep your attention fixed. The restaurant has 30 tables and is extraordinarily beautiful and has some paintings on its walls. Next to it are Whole Goods and MarketExpress, two shopping centers that cater to shopper’s delights and commands. In between those two shopping centers lie my restaurant, with lots of delicious fare and a comfortable, tranquil, and soothing atmosphere of delicious dining. I can’t wait to share about what happens at my restaurant. Read on! Day 2 Today is Monday, January 1st, 2000. I wake up to a brand new day in Ebony Hills and am excited because I get to open up my restaurant and love doing so. My house is located on Pineridge Boulevard and is about 3 stories tall and is wonderful to live in. I drive to Shanghai Palace, my restaurant, and love to go to the kitchen and prepare some meals. I make a dish of General Tso’s Chicken and enjoy its appearance after I finished making it. It’s a wonder to behold and experience my dish when I finish cooking it, which took about an hour. It smells, looks, and probably tastes good too, but that’s for the customers to decide. I hear the front door open and in comes a woman of about thirty years of age and can’t wait to serve her some authentic Chinese cuisine. It’s going to be a delicious day, full of preparing and cooking food and being skilled in the art of making food. The woman orders Orange Chicken and I quickly gather the ingredients, orange sauce, chicken, and vegetable oil, to make her feel right at home with a delicious dish. I give it to her, and she pays about ten dollars and leaves with the dish. I wonder what she is going to do about it and am quite proud of myself for making a delicious dish that she will enjoy at home. Today was a great day! Day 3 Today is Tuesday and I drive to my restaurant and am kind of irritated because there is a traffic jam on the streets. I groan and leave and enter the restaurant where I begin scouring over the menu. There are about 100 different dishes to serve and lots of hungry customers to feed. It’s going to be interesting feeding all these people, and I’m excited to fill their stomachs up. Shanghai Palace is located on Juniperside Road, and is a wonder of a restaurant. I can’t wait to serve delicious meals that are affordable to paying customers in this city. There are 3 basic components of a dish, vegetable oil, meat or noodles or seafood, and sauce, which make the dish extraordinarily delicious and delectable. I love making food and am extremely proud of doing so. Shanghai Palace has taught me that hard work, perseverance, and patience pay off in the end, something I am glad to have learned. The front door chimes and in comes a man with a black suit and tie. He sits down at table 13 and orders Lo Mein, or fried noodles. I cook the dish and excitedly bring it out to him, so that he can try it and experience all its goodness for ten dollars. I’m excited about the restaurant's success and am glad about its high popularity, catering to the needs of Ebony Hills residents. The man eats the dish and leaves. Day 4 Today is Wednesday and love the weather outside. It’s gorgeous, with the sun shining, the morning air calm and pleasant, and the weather an absolute joy. I love the day today and love experiencing its happiness and awesomeness. The restaurant’s front door is locked and I open it with my key and begin yet another day of cooking. A woman with her children walk in and they sit down at table 28. They converse with each other and look extremely happy being here. They order Orange Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken and seem excited to be sitting in a restaurant that caters to their tastes and joys. It’s great cooking for these people and they leave the restaurant feeling happy and excited. I clean up the table and am pleased to have cooked a delicious set of delicacies for the day and am glad that the restaurant is doing so well today. I feel happy about the restaurant’s business and am pleased that today, 50 customers came and ordered something off the menu. It’s a great joy learning that today people have loved eating delicious Chinese food. I know that tomorrow I need to buy some chicken, vegetable oil, and noodles for another day of cooking and making food. I can’t wait for the day and am excited for another day of delicious food-making. The day is tinged with a bit of sadness. Day 5 I go to Goods Extravaganza, Ebony Hills’s largest grocery store and am excited to buy all the things I need for my restaurant and can’t wait to enjoy the delicious food I bought for myself. I buy a churro there and love the cinnamon taste, the chewiness, and the time and hard work it took to make one. Churros are one of my favorite foods, and I can’t believe I was able to eat one so cheaply. I buy the goods and go home, excited to stock up on what’s needed for Shanghai Palace. Ebony Hills is about 10,000 people large and is around 50 square miles. Most of the people here earn about 50,000 dollars a year on average, and can afford Chinese takeout once a week. The restaurant is extraordinarily delicious with Fried Rice being a delicious delicacy that I serve on a daily basis. Goods Extravaganza is a behemoth of a store and contains lots and lots of goods like bottled water, napkins, and other stuff. Shanghai Palace is a joy to own and I love being able to give customers lots of delicious fare that they can afford. It’s a successful restaurant with people buying food and leaving all the time. The most popular dish there is Shrimp Fried Rice and is a delicious food to make. People love my cooking and enjoy its aroma, taste, look, feel, and cooking sound. Shanghai Palace’s interior is wonderful, full of joy. Day 6 Today is Friday, and I’m excited for yet another day of working at Shanghai Palace. I can’t wait to hear the sound of people eating, the food frying, and the sound of conversation. It’s going to be a blessed and wonderful day full of comfort and joy. People come in the restaurant and sit down at one of the tables in my restaurant. A woman walks in and sits down at table 15 and orders 2 egg rolls with Pork Fried Rice. It’s an exciting day to be alive and I can’t wait to serve her the delicious food I made. I love giving people delicious food for an affordable price because doing so gives me a sense of accomplishment. Shanghai Palace is a delicious and wonderful restaurant full of joy and beauty. The woman eats her food and walks out, full of food. I watch another customer walk in, a man with his children, and he orders Wonton Soup and sits at table 1. He seems extremely excited with how delicious the food is going to be and how wonderful it’s going to look and taste. I make the soup, using broth and other ingredients, and he eats it all up feeling happy and full afterwards. Wonton Soup is a Chinese delicacy full of deliciousness and a savory taste. The day ends and I go back home from my restaurant. Many came to eat and many left full. Friday went well today, and I feel extremely glad. Day 7 Today is Saturday, January 6th, and I head on over to my restaurant where I serve delicious Chinese cuisine at an affordable price. I love serving food to hungry people because I feel like doing so helps people feel good about themselves. An old man comes in and I serve him Lo Mein, something he wanted to eat for a long time but couldn’t because he didn’t have the money to do so. Lo Mein is just fried noodles, and he had a blast eating it. He left the restaurant feeling good about the day and about himself. Lo Mein is a wonderful Chinese food that takes an hour to make and uses oil, noodles, and sesame sauce to create a delicious dish. Lo Mein is delicious to eat and even better to think about. The food is wonderful to enjoy and people love eating it. Another customer walks in, and this time it’s a woman and she sits at table 22. She orders Beef Fried Rice and downs it quickly because she enjoys eating Chinese food greatly. Beef Fried Rice is different from Pork Fried Rice because the kind of meat differs. The woman leaves the restaurant, feeling happy and satisfied with her dining experience. Saturday went by quickly, and I drive back home in my used Honda with a sense of completeness. A day’s worth of work always makes me feel like I accomplished something worthwhile.
