A Day

A Day

A Poem by BlueShadow

A Day

I go to the library and am stunned
Rows upon rows of shelved fun
I check out a book and go out in the sun
I enjoy reading books a ton

I finish my book and feel very merry
Even on the gigantic blue ferry
I pop a bottle of delicious Sherry
And put in the bottle a few berries

I get off the ship and feel happy and adventurous
Ready to explore the giant infinite wilderness
I walk but the hike quickly becomes monotonous
And stop to feel the slowing down of rambunctiousness

I love my life, my house, and my dog
I feel the humid mist of fog
Around my cabin made of logs
And take care of my hogs

The day ends with glee
Today I didn’t pay a single fee
Nor was I stung by a bee
And got to focus today all on me
