The Khalasata DesertA Story by BlueShadowJames Morrison and Jim Peters were on their camels facing the extraordinarily hot sun and the blazing heat of its rays. For miles on end in every direction they could not see any water, cacti, or other travelers. They were by themselves in this extremely unforgiving place full of scorpions, heat, and criminals. The Khalasata Desert was a huge one, being around 100,000 square miles. Endless rows of sand covered the ground, and James was starting to get thirsty. He desired water but was too tired and afraid to go by himself and look for it in the unending sand. There were so many scorpions that James and Jim were sure one would bite them at some point in their journey. For now, their goal was to look for the ground and see whether or not there were any pyramids, oases, friendly travelers, or people who had more knowledge of the desert than they did. The desert was both fascinating and somewhat frightening to encounter because there was little water or food and the only shelter they had was their makeshift tent. It was a scary place to be, full of predators and the gigantic ball of fire which hung in the earth. James was walking to an oasis that was huge, full of fresh and clean water, and relatively near. He grabbed his lone canteen and scooped a cupful of water and was so excited and glad to have done it. He now had a fresh batch of water that was going to be useful for dehydration if he ever had to face it in the future. James was walking back to the camel he owned when something bit his ankle. “Ow!”, he yelled, stunned that anything was actually alive in the blazing heat and arid air of the environment. Khalasata Desert was full of scorpions, and James knew that at some point in his trek across the desert, he would get bitten. James put some ointment on his ankle and shooed the scorpion away. He went back on top of his camel and was glad to have been able to do so in a timely and easy way. Khalasata Desert had many pyramids, James and Jim just had to find them. Jim asked James, “Do you want to go back to the pyramid we passed? It seemed like a good place to stay.” James replied, “I don’t know. We have to be careful as this is a remote desert and we are newcomers. People could take advantage of us.” James and Jim went back to their pyramid they encountered and saw many rooms with beds, lamps, desks, and bathrooms. It was like a hotel was located inside the desert, except that this desert had pyramids. The pyramid was well furnished and the duo stayed there for a week and ate lots of good food like pork and drank lots of wine. The duo were so happy to have been able to find a pyramid so beautiful and extraordinary that they were glad that they went back to it. The two were extremely happy being able to talk with other travelers, sleep, eat and drink, and play games with some of the inhabitants of the pyramid. Khalasata Desert was an extremely unforgiving place so James and Jim did the right thing in staying at the pyramid and decided to go traveling across the find grains of sand once again to find signs of life. The desert was barren except for oases, pyramids, cacti, scorpions, and sand. It was a brutal place to be and the two men knew that one mistake was all it takes to send them on their way home. The two were extraordinarily happy about being able to have the time of their lives being in the desert, as well as risking their lives. James and Jim found a gigantic oasis after miles and miles of sand traveling. The Khalasata Desert had some bigger oases, and James and Jim found it. They were so lucky to have found a body of water that was big, clean, and refreshing to taste. James and Jim drank gulps and gulps of water and were satisfied once their thirst was quenched. James and Jim loved the adventurous nature of riding a camel across a barren desert with no accompaniment and no guide to take them through danger. They drank the water and stopped at the oasis and decided to wonder what it would be like to pitch their house there. They would be extraordinarily happy being able to have a great time setting up their homes, mining precious metals, and having the time of their lives living in the desert. They set up their homes near the large oasis and decided to have some fun being able to eat scorpions, drink water, eat cacti, and live in such a remote, desolate, and unforgiving place. The Khalasata Desert was a remarkably beautiful, extravagant, and wild place full of unexpected people, animals, and things as well as being relatively untouched by humans. James and Jim were mining some iron rocks when Jim found a blue gem when he was mining. Beyond ecstatic, he decided to go to James and show his finding. The two knew that this blue gem of medium size was going to be extremely valuable as it had so much shine and luster to it. James and Jim decided to go out of the desert and go to the nearest town, Jamacca. This town had 1,000 people in it and was an extraordinarily interesting, vibrant, and beautiful town which had a gem store. Jim and James both went into the store and asked the store owner how much it was worth. He looked at the stone carefully and replied, “1000 coins”. Excited, Jim and James both decided that it was time to sell the gem and use the money to have a comfortable residence and have a decent amount of emergency cash. Jim and James took the money and went out of the store and decided to look for a housing center. They found one and bought an apartment for themselves because they were going to live together until they had the economic and emotional maturity of an older adult. They were both so happy about their lives and their economic success.
