Shostakovich Quartet 9

Shostakovich was inventive and in a way a bit crazy

He used new musical methods and composition ways

Shostakovich was avant-garde and modern in every way

Abstract, original, and interesting were good words to define his music

Quartet 9 was meant for four players

2 violins, a viola, and a cello

It was about half an hour long 

And was exceptionally beautiful, too

The mood of the quartet was somber, sad, and suspenseful

Expressive and melodic were his notes

Quartet 9 was amazing and lovely

Remarkable for its inventiveness and lonely atmosphere

I loved quartet 9 and Shostakovich's interesting thought process

His music was very serious here

It was like being under a crescent moon in the night

And having no ability to shed a tear
