Calculus Blues

Calculus Blues

A Poem by BlueShadow

Calculus Blues

I sit in the classroom with the lights on
In my desk I stare at the test
Integrals, derivatives, infinite series, and limits
Are all fair game as I try my best

Calculus is like math on steroids
Extremely challenging and difficult
It makes my head spin with dizziness
As I feel like I’m in a gigantic void

The test is like 30 questions of torture
What on Earth is the derivative of sin(x)?
I write down an answer
And hope that miraculously I got it right

Math is challenging and makes my mind hurt in pain
It’s so abstract and crazy
Numbers, symbols, and rules galore
Calculus is one of the most challenging math courses I stayed

I get out of the classroom as the bell rings
I feel a sigh of relief as I leave
Equations, variables, and geometric shapes
Too much for my head today
