The Portal

The Portal

A Poem by BlueShadow

In the attic of their house

They discovered something wonderful

Jill and Ron found something

A big and blue portal

They inspected it and saw

That it had no barriers

It was a gateway to many

Many places fairer

The portal was blue and oval

Shaped like a giant mirror

It was so beautiful and lovely

It could make them happier

Jill and Ron jumped into the portal

Happy and joyous as can be

They were no longer mortal

They were finally and truly free

The portal took them to a secret place

Somewhere only they knew

It gave them a good taste

Of what the portal could do

They went to a wonderland full of animals

Big and small, tall and short

As much as their minds could handle

They went to a big, brown, and beautiful fort

Inside, their imagination took them away

Breathless, they saw something brighter than day

It was a circus, a zoo, a giant display

Of a creature’s beauty, without any hay
