Treading the Earth

Treading the Earth

A Chapter by BlueShadow

I walk along the path

The path winds itself through tree after tree

In the gigantic forest

I wonder to myself

Will my feet marry the earth?
In a sort of imaginary and beautiful ceremony

The earth is a gigantic ball of rock

Hanging suspended in sheer blackness

My feet tread the earth and they and the earth are one

My feet are married to the planet

My soles kiss the ground
I think they have been married for 28 years

And will divorce only at the end of my life
