Unquenched Thirst

The water bottle sits

On the table

Like a fire waiting to be quenched

It’s about a foot tall

Sparkling and shining like crazy

I wonder about its presence

Nothing but a vessel

For me to grab

For me to uncoil

Unwrap, understand

My thirst is unbelievable

It’s like the desert

The Sahara

I drink the water bottle

And the Amazon comes alive
