Waitress.

Waitress.

A Poem by i.am.the.sun.
"

i was dennys for 8.5 hours tonight working on an essay. also had to write a metaphysical poem for school, figured i'd whip this out last minute before i left.

"

You dance through scrambled thoughts

serving scrambled eggs

with your careful choreography

and each step memorized.

Keeping time with the clock's second hand perfectly

it's hard to believe you're human.

and through the entire night you kept me company

it's hard to believe you're not an angel.

we both have powers,

i hope you know that.

i think about this while you pour:

i've turned this napkin into something else,

and you've turned this night into something more.

i left a copy of this on a napkin for the waitress when i left. probably seems super creepy, but whatever, she was really nice.
