All Mine

All Mine

A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

I frequently feel anxiety over something as innocuous as a hello to a specific person for many reasons. Thought I'd write about this pattern I feel.

"
The embarrassment's all mine
When I say hello
"Have I said too much?" I wonder
and think I should have known
That you would be busy or worse
that you want me to go
somewhere else or shut my mouth
I'm reminded I can't outrun my doubts
But when luck's on my side
you dispel those fears
It's just a problem I have
whenever you're not here
I'm told what a fool I am
but the words are not from you
It is from my mind not your sweet lips
that I hear something cruel
I have no proof
that you think of me poorly
It just seems wishful to think
someone like you has any interest for me

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
