Creative Writing Assignment 1

Topic: The benefits of reading the newspaper Lesson/Moral: Reading the newspaper will keep you up to date with news world wide.

Me: “Hi Mom! How was your day?”

Mom: “It was great! How about you?”

Me: “It was pretty good.”

Mom: “Did you read the newspaper today?”

Me: “Why would I ever read the newspaper when I can just look on twitter?”

Mom: “Because reading the newspaper has a lot of benefits.”

Me: “Tell me about it.”

Mom: “Well the newspaper is a very reliable source?”

Me: “Really?”

Mom: “Yeah, the people that write it are usually the first to report it making it a primary source.”

Me: “Tell me more.”

Mom: “The newspaper also is filled tons of information like world news, local news, weather forecasts and sports topics.”

Me: “Cool!”

Mom: “It also contains crossword puzzles that can be a fun challenge when you’re bored and don’t have anything to do.”  

Me: “I’m learning so much new stuff about the benefits the newspaper has.”

Mom: “Awesome! You thinking about starting to read the newspaper more often?”

Me: “Definitely! I think it will keep me more updated with what’s going on in the world so I won’t miss anything important.”

Mom: “I’m glad I could be a help.”

Me: “Thanks for informing me about the benefits of reading the newspaper.”

Mom: “No problem. Any time.”
