Blue Label TemptationA Poem by icaros13_
There's an old bottle of scotch
I have hidden away For years it's been silent But it called me today Not sure why I kept it Maybe just to remind me Of dark clouded days I stumbled through blindly I know that I shouldn't Lend Johnnie my ear And if it wasn't Blue Label There'd be nothing to fear Like pure unsweetened honey I remember the taste The smokey peat nose Puts a smile on my face I hear the rocks tinkle Though I'm not holding a glass Feel it slide down my throat Slight burn at the last I want it so bad My desire is inflamed I long to be numb To forget my name Would just one drink hook me Like they say that it does? I'm not still that weak I'm stronger now than I was... Now I'm holding the bottle And it's so hard to think When Johnnie looks in my eyes And dares me to drink © 2012 icaros13Featured Review
