My life as a Chameleon

My life as a Chameleon

Being a Chameleon
can be quite frustrating.
You can't get a good look
at who you are.
I once asked a tree
in whom I was lounging
what I looked like.
He said, "I hear your voice
but I can't see
you.
You must look
just like me."
It was the same
everywhere I went.
I was a disembodied
voice.
Until I met her.
Another Chameleon.
Naturally we hugged.
That day I learned,
when two Chameleons
come together,
it's their true selves
that they see.

takes one to truly know one kind of thing it seems? I love the theme of this, finding like kind, someone who can understand you like no one else can. Its comforting...and one feels less alone.
