Shadow TeaA Poem by icelandicblue
Tea was on the tepid side
as was the conversation; barely a crack in the skim-coat of pancake makeup. Moth balls and sighs filled the void between sips by smoke-ringed lips, each waiting for the other to add the first spark of awareness. Their unused hearts were unaccustomed to the normal rhythms of living. They have become bystanders reflected in the bakery window, staring at their own demise. © 2013 icelandicblueReviews
