speak softly to me now,
for years ive only heard screams.
if there's a way, show me how,
i've only felt this in my dreams.

you've made promises, but so have i.
but this time we'll make ones we keep.
and when the hours pass us by,
i'll re-live them in my sleep.

the day i bent and finally gave,
and let my insides show.
was the night you promised you would save,
and never let me go.
