     Behind eyes of blue

          Animosity stares at her

          Cruel words hunt the air

          Assaulting an embittered face

          Whispers chill a spine

           Ghost mimics sneers in nightmares

           Bruised feelings surface

           Hurt bleeds in an acky heart

           Forgiveness is dead

           Sadness and betrayal live

That absence of forgiveness near the end of this piece, perhaps caught my attention the most. And yet, has this woman done or said something herself; which was what instigated such cruel words being hurled at her?. On the otherhand, perhaps it's a reference to this woman finding it too difficult; to forgive her tormentors?. Of course, the interpretation could go either way. And, only the writer knows her intentions for sure. Either way, it's a sad and emotive write. And, reminds readers; of how cruel words can bruise and sometimes leave emotional scars.

I'm trying to remember what this form is called advancing lines. Like a blitz? You should try a pantoum or Villanelle sometime. I like how the subject lets the reader decide how intense the experience your writing about is. So many different feelings behind eyes of all colors. Maybe we can see through blue eyes better.

I'm wondering if you meant to write achy instead of ackey? Maybe you were referencing the achy breaky heart song.

Some people are really cruel with words and obviously in this poem, it hurts; We must fight back the betrayal that shrouds us. It is hard to forget that which harms us so much. This is very deep and emotional; and I hope that those who are betrayed will learn that this kind of behavior is cruel.
