Floating Back

Floating Back

A Poem by inconsistentsea

Is that you reaching,
through my walls, almost breaching?
Because I am too far away to care,
no longer really there.
And I don't think you can bring me back.
My indifference won't be what cracks.
I am floating back to who I used to be,
but I don't want you following me.
This time alone, so overdue.
You are not a part of me like I am you.
I'm not sure how to treat you anymore,
how to act, what we started this for.
We both know I am never satisfied.
I know how hard you think you tried.
It's like I won't let it happen.
It's like it's meant to.....
It's like I want it to.....
