Lost in Poetry

 

Got away from me,

The words that followed I couldn’t conceive.

Lost my direction,

Wanted perfection

instead of honesty.

 I thought about you instead of me.

I thought about your eyes,

the what and the whys.

Lost control,

doubt breached the hull

And it all got away from me,

The words that should follow, I just can’t conceive.

I like the negation and conflict in this, I like that the identity of the narrator is mixed up terribly with all things beloved (poetry and the other).
