Just Heard

 

I just heard you’ll swing by;

I’ll be near your breath.

My wit you’ll test.

-Of joy I may cry!

 

They say you’ll be here

-this time tomorrow.

Your smile and your cheer

will drown my sorrow.

 

I’ll have a line for you;

a poem or two.

I’ll be so excited,

I won’t know what to do.

 

And when you hug me

I’ll try not to cry,

for this love’s still a secret

I carry inside.
