and if it is all

for naught;

as this life seems to be,

if it is all a joke

not meant for us,

but rather

on us all,

would you stare into the void;

fight back the tears of cowardice

and laugh with me?

Now this? I adore this. This is a breath of fresh air in a series of similar poetry.

Cowardice is for the selfish and weak. However, laughter can be the tip of the iceberg to either madness or joy.
