the heavenly champ of the worldA Poem by stephen dillonthis is a poem inspired by the struggles my mother has to endure and how well she copes
Walking? Talking? Surrounded by tribes of upright apes with mush-brain mundane tasks on their minds. Rows and rows of inept material stuffs worried over by mothers who try to support the yougin’ with what little skin she has left on her teeth she barely makes it and through all her struggle she’s only left with wrinkles, arthritis ,and a bad back. In her head there is yelling back and forth like an angry Morse code. Every month she gets in the ring and rolls with the punches to keep things above water .I may wear ill-fitting clothes but I don’t ever go hungry, yeah d*mn right I am angry young and poor that’s a permanent status except the age, it’ll change while I grow older never fully satisfied always half-way happy like my mom and I are missing something just maybe we were absent on the secret to life seminar
