More like villainous, am I right?

More like villainous, am I right?

A Poem by c. bee
"

cut off one head and three more will grow in its place

"
A well placed blade will nick the crown
Their goblets fill with royal red
And so the excess trickles down

The court-bound jester just a clown
The prince’s songbird left for dead
A well placed blade will nick the crown

Where starving beggars once would frown
In throngs they savor hoarded bread
And so the excess trickles down

Abhor the verb, forsake the noun
In war a want becomes a need
A well placed blade will nick the crown

In tides of greed intentions drown
The rotting fish can blame its head
And so the excess trickles down

At once a damned and pardoned town
One monarch offed is one more dead
A well placed blade will nick the crown
And so the excess trickles down

Author's Note

Time and time again humanity is hoisted by its own petard. Ego consumes, greed conquers, hate destroys. We the people celebrate the small wins in the battle against our intrinsic evil as if they mean anything. Of course we have to or what’s the point in living.
