Open Spaces

Open Spaces

A Poem by MCS

Nothing matters in wide open spaces

not the grains of sand, crushed with one’s steps

not the sea grasses that bend with the breeze

pushing forward into the gusts of the sea

tasting salt air on one’s lips

stilling one’s mind, allowing inner quiet

nothing around but the elements

the sound of water

the feel of air through one’s hair

the texture of the earth under one’s feet

the fire of emotion within

thoughts upon thoughts, time has no meaning

nothing matters in wide open spaces

the foam of the surf washing over one’s feet

washing away one’s footsteps

but not one’s existence

A good title and poem.
I rather have wide open spaces than tight spaces.
