Slice of LifeA Poem by MCSMemory rips
fragments from my mind and places it at my feet these moments I cannot escape I go hungry at these times I’m lucky to be upright my seasons have passed with little sweetness disappointment a kernel lodged in my throat paper and pen are my only refuge Flooded with fragments from my past moments studded with shards of broken glass these reflections are like a scythe through my heart hacking pieces of my soul I awake from these trances knowing these moments are behind me the scythe’s blade broke many years ago no longer able to slice Sweetness eludes me still memories still clutter my mind I’m a long way from home my faith keeps me moving forward There’s a hole in my world a hole in my heart a hole in the ground where I’ll build a new home for myself
