No accounting for the weather

No accounting for the weather

A Poem by MCS

Ominous cirrocumulus clouds in the western horizon

an ongoing war in the east

icy winds from the north

moisture from the south

Pouring black strong morning coffee

wondering what today will bring

asking myself if its happiness I seek

or is it pleasure I prefer

Watching the storm gain strength

shadows lengthen with the blocking of the sun

temperatures drop

counting down to the first clap of thunder

Thunder arrives

windowpanes rattle

power goes out

I return to bed

Thomas, thank you for those kind words.

I like this poem and the pondering aspect...:)...............
