Senseless

Senseless

A Poem by MCS
"

When the Second Amendment was written, guns fired 1 round a minute. Now they can fire over 100. Guns have evolved over the years. So should gun laws. ~ Shane Claiborne

"

Dead children don’t need prayers

Nor the families tormented by grief

How many more must die in vain

Before the stuffed suits

Choke on their hollow condolences

"Our hearts and prayers are with you"

Words that drift like smoke

Weightless and useless

Deeds move the world

But greed stands guard

The eternal barricade to change

It is a situation that has gotten totally out of hand. Few things are more deeply seated in American culture than whiskey and guns, and we know what happened when they tried to ban whiskey. It went underground, and guns could do the same thing. Yet if we don't take some legal action, things will continue roll out as they have been doing in recent years. I frankly don't know what to do.
