pain

finally an actually new piece. wrote this quickly but I like how it turned out.

sometimes pain is simple
sometimes it twists into your heart
encroaches
erodes
sends out it’s dark tendrils
crushes you within its grasp
leaves you with a knot
you cannot untie
at least not alone

Sometimes quick writes turn out better than the ones we torture over. How does that happen? Hell if I know. I like how this started as an exercise in understanding and an acknowledgment of pain, but ends with a simple solution, albeit one that many people who face loneliness can do nothing about. Very good write! CD

thank you, your comment about loneliness is a great point. so I guess really, in that perception, it wouldn’t be a solution but an unfortunate reality that those who are able to reach out will survive and those who can’t might not.
