I salute thee melancholy wind

I salute thee melancholy wind

A Poem by Isa Ruffatti

Try, try
Get to the top
My foot trembles
I am pushed

Fall, fall
could-be lies
envelop my thoughts
did they lie, did they?
When praise me so they did
Am I truly good
or truly a wretch
too small and meek
for understanding thee

Whistle, whistle
I salute thee
melancholy wind
I wish to sleep for awhile
For I fancy I am nothing
Am I deceived?
The future seems so bleak

Heal, heal
How can I make thee better?
I  shall find a way
